Why Dentistry at PUMS? Intensive Clinical Immersion The University operates a Dental Outpatient Clinic that has been open to local patients for many years now. This gives students the opportunity to experience directly a wide variety of clinical cases. Starting from year 3 of the study program, students actively participate in patient treatment. Modern techniques We make sure that our students learn the profession by using the latest available education tools. Additionally, our Dental Clinic – offering services to patients from Poznan – is equipped with modern diagnostic devices. These two factors come together in teaching to get students acquainted with modern dentistry. OSCE-type examination The objective structured clinical examination is a very unique type of experience and although its design is well described and understood, some students may be initially too stressed to be able to follow the exam’s workflow easily. Having this in mind, we are organizing mock OSCE-type examinations during the studies in Poznan to prepare them better for future licensing examinations. Voluntary work & research opportunities For several years now, we have been organizing free open dental checkups days, encouraging our dental students to help out and gain valuable experience. Additionally, outstanding students have the opportunity to contribute to the research projects conducted by various departments. Undergraduate entry Start your dental studies right after high school without the requirement of earlier degrees or pre-dental education. Advanced dental simulation lab Including 18 state-of-the-art dental clinical units and 60 dental workstations with model patients and latest equipment for pre-clinical education. High success rate in dental licensing exams and employability PUMS alumni achieve 96% overall passing rate in dental licensing examinations in Taiwan. Solid core in medicine Curriculum includes substantial amount of coursework in medicine in additional to basic sciences and strictly technical dental courses. Highly-qualified faculty An important factor in the process of acquiring new practical skills and theoretical knowledge by students is the personal practical experience of the teachers. Our faculty consists of practicing dentists happy to share their own clinical experience. This kind of approach exposes the students to very professional and applicable practical knowledge, and that is crucial in the dental profession.
